There has long been a lure to the thundering waters of Niagara Falls. Historically, Niagara Falls was established as the ideal honeymoon destination by the French in the early 1800s. It has been said that Napoleon’s brother, Jerome Bonaparte, travelled by stage from New Orleans to spend his honeymoon in Niagara Falls, and returned home with flowing reports. Since virtually everyone emulated royalty as much in that era as they do today, Niagara Falls has become the HONEYMOON CAPITAL OF THE WORLD.

Whenever you are in the “Niagara Region” you should reserve sufficient time for the most scenic drive in this area. The Niagara Parkway follows the Niagara River which flows from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. Although the route is only 56 km long, you will see many attractions along the way. Stop at the various parking lots and enjoy breathtaking sights. All along the lower river, you will see wineries or signage directing you to one. They all invite you for wine tasting and tours which familiarize you with wine making.  Also watch for the fruit stands. Local grown fruits of the season are offered here.
